THE FOUNDATION

Before you can sell it, you need to define “it”. This definition of our core customer, their needs and the unique way we solve their problems is critical to later growth and success. For this work, I like to produce:

Lean Canvases, Competitive Analysis, KPIs/OKRs, Roadmaps (Business & Development…yes they should be different), Service Journeys & Blueprints, Customer & User Personas

 

THE CUSTOMER

In order to keep building and growing our products: we need revenue. How we define our total addressable market and zero-in on our target or wedge market is another layer of strategic work that requires constant vigilance and adaptability. For this work, I like to produce:

Empathy Maps, Positioning Documents, Qualitative & Quantitative Customer Research, SWOTs, Customer Stories

The product

Now that we know where we’re going, we need a hypervigiliant, constantly changing plan that gets us there. This comes in the form of your basic Product Management duties of being the source of strategy and prioritization for your team. For this work, I like to build artifacts such as:

Development & Design Roadmaps, User Stories/Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, Process Management (Agile, Lean UX, etc), Sprint Planning and Management
